CWC19 PakvInd: 5 Reasons That History Might Repeat Itself On Sunday

The history is about to repeat once again. Similar to this year, in 2017 the El Classico of cricket was also scheduled on fathers day. It was one of the memorable matches for the Pakistani cricket fans because seeing Pakistan win against India is like a major burn to Indian fans based on the fire lit between the two countries. For Pakistanis and Indians, the satisfaction of winning against each other is on another level. So people get absolutely thrilled when they realize that there is a Pakistan vs India match coming up.

The fans were awed by the 2017 win because it wasn’t a small one at all. The target set by Pakistan was 338 and India despite being a capable team to chase that score was sorely defeated by 180 runs in the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 even though Virat Kohli, the now and then captain of Indian team has a record of scoring runs while chasing a targeted score. Pakistan brought the trophy home that day under sarfaraz’s captaincy and made all of us proud. For more cricket gossips click here

A remarkable hundred by Fakhar Zaman and immense new-ball spell by Mohammad Amir. What a day it was! The stunning victory is unforgettable.

It was one ugly match for India though, as its score was 33 for three with Virat Kohli gone from the field at the hands of Amir’s bowl and Shadab Khan’s catch. The match took even worse turns with Dhoni and Yuvraj also down the batting line at 54 for five.

Be it Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, or Amir everyone had devliever an unexpected thrashing which left fans mesmerized.

We are hoping to see a similar endearing serendipity on 16th June 2019 in Pakistan’s face off against India for the World Cup 2019 because there are more than one reasons to be expecting that.

1. First being the fact that it is on the same day as it was in 2017 that is, the fathers day and we are expecting it to be played as our good luck charm for the match. Alot of memes had been made out of the circumstance of Pakistan winning the match on fathers day. This year people have already started dropping warmup memes on the social media.

People are even assuming that ICC did that on purpose to troll the internet because the coincidence is unbelievable.

Some of us are positive about Pakistan’s win to the level where they don’t even need to watch the match because it will end up with the same results as in 2017. Pakistan will face another glorious victory.

2. Another pretty clear reason is, we’ve got THE ULTIMATE TRIO!

Ok, let’s not be too excited but really having the same trio who killed the contending team and took the match to somewhere else in 2017 is for sure something. People are expecting a lot from the trio because it is not easy to get past safe by them. Shadab is known to have 27.74 ODI bowling average which is considered quite excellent. Amir was intended to be dropped from the squad because of his, was picked last minute because of his performance in 2017. Fakhar was spotted playing like Brian Lara in 2017 ever since that he has been considered a legend in the making.

3. In the match against England in 2017 Fakhar had gotten off the field exactly the same way, as now in 2019.

We have another coincidence here. In the semi-final against England in the Champions league Fakhar was only able to make half century when he got stumped by Butler. Similarly in the 3rd June match against England in World Cup 2019, Fakhar was only able to score 36 runs when Buttler got him off the field with his lightening-quick stumping. However, in 2017 when Fakhar played the next match against India he became the star of the evening by contributing 114 runs in the big total of 338. The no easy deal of 12 fours and 3 sixes got him to the big stage as the man of the match.

4. The semi-final played against England in 2017 was won by Pakistan

In 2017 semi-final against England which was held right before the match with India in the finals was won by Pakistan. Similarly in World Cup 2019, Pakistan has defeated England in the fixture held on 6th June before our match with India on 16th June. Which was really unexpected by anyone as in the match against West Indies, Pakistan was beaten horridly. So who would’ve believed the performance of the team would shoot so much against one of the best team.

5. We have the same captains against each other as we had in 2017

Pakistan and India both played the match on 18th July 2017 with the same captains as now in World Cup 2019; Sarfaraz and Virat Kohli, who have been winning the heart of their countries for a past few years.

Where both the countries are excited for this match, the forces are concerned for the safety of the team and the audience as this match is not just a match for the two Asian cricket giants, it’s a war.

Hence, security has been stepped up in Manchester for Pakistan-India World Cup fixture ahead, as reported by The Sun. The clash will be held between the two former world champions on June 16 at Old Trafford and the reports have been telling that the security officials will be armed to avoid any untoward incident during the match. The security is being made full-proof by installing vehicle barriers to ensure that no vehicle attack takes place.

Besides, the war spirit is even being seen in the players themselves as Mahendra Singh Dhoni wears the insignia of Indian Army on his gloves triggering the Pakistani team who then posted a request to PCB to celebrate the Indian wickets “differently” in the match on 16th. The PCB however asked the team to stick with cricket and turned down the request.

However, people are putting even worse ideas in the team’s conscience.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on observing the “Balidaan Badge” on Dhoni’s gloves in the opening match against South Africa, has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (ICC) to get it removed. In response the BCCI has shot up a formal request to allow Dhoni to wear the insignia.

This match is larger than life as half a million applications were received for the tickets of this match which were only 25,000 in total which are already sold out now.

The spirits are so high that it is like the death wish of both nations to see their teams win.
