Inzamam-ul-Haq has just announced his retirement as PCB chief selector


Inzamam-ul-Haq has announced his retirement as Pakistan's chief selector.


The former nationwide captain told a press conference in Lahore on Tuesday that he does not require an extension of his contract with the PCB, which is ending at the end of the month.


He was selected as PCB chief selector in April 2016 and was with team during the period that included Pakistan's success in the Champions Trophy 2017 final against India two years earlier.


Inzamam also stated that during his tenure the team performed well but now its his time leave the chair for someone else, and new the new management should focus on new talent from Pakistan to strengthen our national team. for more cricket updates and latest news click here


His preliminary offer had actually been due to go out in April, but was extended by the PCB to take in the current world cup 2019, during which Pakistan's position was fifth in the group phase and also failed to go for semi finals due to run low run rate.


"I think it is time to step down, I will complete my term that ends on July 30," said Inzamam.
